Title: IVF Success Rate, Infertility Treatment, IVF Treatment, IVF Procedure

1
Recurrent Pregnency Loss Programme
  • There is nothing more painful than losing a
pregnancy repeatedly! It is not only devastating
  • for the patient but also the treating
doctor! RPL is defined as a situation where a
    woman has
  • lost three or more than three pregnancies.
At Southend we run a very positive RPL
  • programme. We are the first in the country
to discover and promote the fact that RPL may be
  • caused by chronic infections like genital
tuberculosis! We also discovered that majority of
  • recurrent failures whether at implantation
or later pregnancy is due to an impaired blood
  • circulation within the pelvis especially the
uterus. The cause for this may vary.
  • At Southend, we carry out all tests to rule out
the cause of RPL and accordingly treat the
  • patient. In case the patient has a genetic
cause, the patient and her husband are informed
  • regarding the defect and counseled regarding
    future implications. Endocrinal causes like
  • PCOS can also be the reason and needs to be
tackled by taking insulin lowering medication.
  • We are proud to inform that 80 of cases are
befitted by such cases, However, we would
  • seriously wish to inform our patients that
there is no need to go through extensive testing
  • after a single pregnancy loss .This could
have happened by chance and one should not worry
  • about it.

2
Ovum/Embryo Donation
  • Egg donors are chosen by the doctor based on
    their physical and temperamental resemblance
  • to the recipient woman. This is done since
most of the examinations are expensive and the
  • doctor must first confirm that a match is
possible before investing in the process. The
    donor is
  • then required to undergo a thorough medical
examination, including a pelvic exam, blood
  • draw to check hormone levels and to test for
infectious diseases, Rh factor, blood type, and
  • drugs and an ultrasound to examine her
ovaries, uterus and other pelvic organs. A family
  • history of approximately the past three
generations is also required. Genetic testing may
    also
  • be done on donors to ensure that they do not
carry mutations (e.g., cystic fibrosis) that
    could
  • harm the resulting children.
  • Once the screening is complete, the donor will
begin the donation cycle, which typically takes
  • between three and six weeks. An egg
retrieval procedure comprises both the Egg Donors
  • Cycle and the Recipients Cycle. Birth
control pills are administered during the first
    few weeks
  • of the egg donation process to synchronize
the donors cycle with the recipients, followed by
  • a series of injections which halt the normal
functioning of the donors ovaries. These
  • injections may be self-administered on a
daily basis for a period of one to three weeks.

Overseas Programme
  • Our philosophy is to analyze patient problems
and offer the most appropriate therapy 30
  • 40 of the patients therefore do not undergo
IVF in our centre. This is contrary to popular
  • belief that patients are always made to
undergo IVF in a facility such as ours! The
    centre
  • today is a perfect blend of academics and
ethical clinical practice. It has become popular
  • amongst the medical fraternity for training
    in infertility management. Our academic
  • achievements have been applauded
internationally giving us the honour of being
    research
  • collaborators with the prestigious
    ReproductiveResearch Centre of the Cleveland
    Clinic, USA
  • since 2008.
  • At Southend Fertility IVF it is our Endeavour
to help couples in decision making, make
  • treatment as cost effective as possible for
them and advise them to choose other options

welcome you to our facility, stand committed to
  • you and hope you shall enjoy your experience

Preparation For Treatment
  • For your protection and that of any child, we
will need certain blood test results before we
  • offer you treatment. Prospective parents must
have a negative result for Hepatitis B, Hepatitis
  • C and HIV. We must also have evidence that
the prospective mother is immune to rubella, as
  • well as her sickle cell anaemia and
Thalassaemia status for those in high-risk
    groups.
