• Your initial consultation with one of our
  fertility specialist doctors will include a
• review of your medical histories. Both you
  and your spouse may undergo a full
• physical examination, including an internal
  examination for women, while men
• may be asked to produce a semen sample for
  analysis. We will then explore all
• the options with you and come to an agreement
  on a suitable type of treatment.
• We will talk you through the process,
  introduce you to the nursing staff,
• prescribe any indicated drugs and set a date
  for your treatment to commence.

• In some cases, we may need to carry out further
  investigations before starting
• treatment, such as an examination of the
  inside of your womb, an ultrasound scan
• of your womb, ovaries and pelvic organs or an
  analysis of certain hormone levels.
• These tests can be carried out either at the
  fertility center, or your own
• gynaecologist, or other specialist. Following
  the consultation and assessment,
• we will be able to talk to you about the most
  appropriate treatment.

Preparation For Treatment

• For your protection and that of any child, we
  will need certain blood test results
• before we offer you treatment. Prospective
  parents must have a negative result for
• Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and HIV. We must
  also have evidence that the prospective
• mother is immune to rubella, as well as her
  sickle cell anaemia and Thalassaemia
• status for those in high-risk groups.
  Prospective mothers (and fathers who might
• need any surgical procedure) with a Body Mass
  Index (BMI) of over 30 should try
• to reduce this number before starting
  treatment. Please contact us if you are
• unsure about your BMI.
