Title: Reasons a Car That Won't Start

1
Why Wont My Car Start?
  • If you rely on a car older than 10 years for your
commutes, its probably no surprise that its
forced you to run into some trouble every now and
then. In fact, youve probably encountered
several failures when getting it to start. But
before you go ahead and take your car to an auto
repair shop, you should probably try to do some
troubleshooting first. More often than not, the
situation isnt always as complicated as it seems.

2
Batterys Run Out of Juice
Most of the time, your car probably wont start
because its batterys dead. This is the most
common problem that owners of old cars tend to
face, especially if the vehicle hasnt been
maintained and serviced regularly. In order to
determine whether this is the real reason, you
should fumble around for a battery tester and
check out the amps on your car battery. But if
you dont have one on you, you can always try
jumpstarting your car with another car. If the
jumpstart works, its pretty much definite that
your car battery was the problem all along.
3
Ignition Switch is Broken
Another common issue with cars that wont start
is that their ignition switches have long lived
their useful life. In other words, this means
that theyre probably faulty. If you suspect that
your ignition switch may be the issue, simply
maneuver your key to the on position and see if
the lights on your dashboard light up. If they
dont light up, then you can safely assume your
ignition switch has probably kicked the bucket.
4
Steering is Locked
If you cant even turn your key into the
ignition, its most probably that your steering
been looked. This usually happens when either one
of the front wheels is pushed against something.
In order to rectify this, try fiddling around
with your steering wheel by shifting it to the
left and right, while simultaneously turning the
key into the ignition. This might help you to
release the steering and ignition lock.

Other Reasons-
To be completely frank, theres a whole lot going
on under the hood of your car. If it isnt any
one of the problems that are mentioned above,
then its going to get really complicated. There
are other possibilities such as faulty electrical
connections, a clogged fuel filter, a broken coil
wire, or even a loose starter bolt. There are too
many possibilities for you to troubleshoot them
one at a time. If your car doesnt start because
of any of the reasons mentioned above, the best
solution is to take your faulty car to a car
repair shop itll save you a whole lot of time
and trouble.
