The adventure begins once you land here -
Srinagar

Day 1 Drive from Srinagar to Sonamarg
This day, spend time in the dreamlike place of
Srinagar known for its refreshing gardens, lakes
and houseboats. If you wish, you can take an
iconic shikara experience at Dal Lake or amble
through Mughal Gardens that unravels many
beauties along the way. Leave by the evening and
be driven to Sonamarg by night. Spend overnight
at a campsite in Sonamarg.

Day 2 Sonamarg to Nichnai via Shekdur (9-10 km)
Prep up for an exciting day of trekking ahead.
Along the way, there will be a clean dhaba for
necessary purchases. The trail will follow the
exquisite Sindh River. Initially, make way
through beguiling maple and pine trees and
verdant meadows. Get a witness the Sonamarg
Valley and descend towards Shekdur, a cluster of
small peaks dusted with snow. The descent will
end in Bhoj or Silver birch forests where you can
witness the stunning sunset. Upon arrival in
Nichnai, retire for the day and spend overnight
in the campsite.

Day 3 Nichnai to Vishansar Lake (13 km)
On this refreshing day, begin your trekking
journey at around 8 am. Cross Nichnai Pass
(13,500 feet above the ground) that is fringed by
snow crusted mountains and high land. Along the
way, come across a mesmeric blue lake. The
descent unfolds winsome meadows laced with bright
red flowers and a gushing waterfall. Get a
glimpse of Himalayan Mountains. Pitch tent near
a stream that meets the Vishansar Lake.

Day 4  Acclimatization day in Vishansar
This day would be a light one as you acclimatise
yourself to the weather and rest at Vishansar.

Day 5  Vishansar to Gadsar (via Kishasar),
Gadsar to Gadsar pass (11 km)
This chilly morning, witness the Kishansar Peak
cast its reflection in the lake. Pass through
Gadsar, reach Kishansar peak and climb to the
other side of the Vishansar Lake. This comprises
steep ascend and descent and a light walk through
lush stretches. During the second half, go up to
Kishansar Lake, Gadsar pass that towers at 13,
800 ft above post which you descend. Come
across the surreal Gadsar Lake. You can either
camp at Gadsar or at a close-by army camp. You
would have to report at the army camp along with
our ID proofs so as to acquire permission to pass
Gadsar.

Day 6 Gadsar to Satsar (12 km)
Your day will begin with a walk from the army
camp towards the stream. Brace yourself for
varied terrains from super steep, flat and even
land. Take a short break at Maengandob that is
fringed by mountains. Reach the first of Satsar
lakes (a group of seven). Follow the same
procedure of yesterday with the army officials
and set camps near the surreal first lake of
Satsar.

Day 7  Satsar to Gangabal Twin lakes (9 km)
A true test of calibre, this is the day when you
will have you push your physical and mental
limits. Trudge through rocks and boulders ridden
terrain, pass the last of the Satsar lakes, and
arrive at a forest line. Reach an altitude of
13, 400ft. and behold the fantastic sight of twin
lakes, Gangabal and Nundkol. Make way through
rocky descent, green meadows. Camp at the banks
of Gangabal Lake and retire for the night.

Day 8Trek from Gangabal to Naranag (12 km, 7
hours)
On your final day start from the Gangabal camp,
ramble on grassy land dotted with yellow flowers
and pine forest. Descend are reach Naranag, the
last leg of your trek. Reach Naranag Village in
Ganderbal District. If you wish, you can visit
Naranag Temple. Be driven back to Srinagar and
unwind in guest house for the night.
