1Scott Luker Successfully Managed Challenger
Soccer Program in Jefferson
2Scott Luker is the proud director of Jefferson
Challenger League, and has managed Challenger
Soccer Program in Jefferson in the month of
September. The Jefferson Township Recreation
Department accepted registrations for its 8th
fall season of the Challenger Soccer Program for
special needs children. Not only children aging 5
to 18 with intellectual or physical disabilities,
but their parents were also invited in the
program.
3The 1st game was scheduled to be played on
September 20 on the large side field of Fireman's
Field situated at 750 Route 15 South in Lake
Hopatcong. The participants followed all the rule
of a soccer game and played with the similar
equipment. But, they were given an option to
utilize the buddy system for help. Each player
on the list played the game and no score was kept
for them. The registration fee for the event was
waived, as it was organized to raise funds.
4Scott Luker told that the registration forms to
umpire, assistant coach, play, manage, become a
buddy to a player, or to serve as a team parent
were available at the Jefferson Township
Recreation Office situated at Camp Jefferson at
81 Weldon Road. These forms were also available
in the lobby brochure racks at the Jefferson
Township Public Library as well as the Jefferson
Township Municipal Building.
5For participants who wanted to download forms
online could do so by visiting website
jeffersontownship.net, and following easy
downloading instructions. After visiting the
site, the participants had to click on
Residents tab, then on Forms Center and had
to scroll to the Recreation Department. These
forms were distributed throughout the Jefferson
Township school district as well.
6The potential participants who wanted
registration forms through mails or e-mails, they
had to contact Jefferson Township Recreation
Department at 973-663-8404. People who want more
information about this program can contact Scott
Luker at 973-270-8356.
