Tim Pivarnik has served the prestigious position
of the Principal at Calumet High School which is
one of 23 schools State wide identified as being
on academic probation, by implementing the
New-Tech instructional model along with a data
driven curriculum program to avoid State take
over, re-designed Algebra and English curriculum
in the freshman academy based on student NWEA and
ISTEP scores along with student grades in their
8th grade Math and English classes to complete my
triangulation of data.

Tim Pivarnik has also developed and implemented
Principal turn-around plan and a freshman
academy with a team teaching environment in a
block schedule format with emphasis on a PBL form
of pedagogy. He evaluated all staff members and
placed them in the proper areas pursuant to their
licensing, qualifications, and strengths and
reassigned as needed. He also designed and helped
to implement a revised school calendar district
wide in a more collegiate style ending semester 1
at Holiday Break.

Signifying his art of formulating unique
strategies in the school development and art of
implementing them, he designed academy to roll
into 10th grade along with looping Algebra and
English teachers thus continuing to roll forward
until the entire high school was in an academy
format with STEM academy development in mind.

The developments made by Tim Pivarnik in Calumet
High School were greatly apprehended by Secretary
of Education Martha Kanter as "an Island of
excellence" in her Speech to a One Region/One
Vision meeting on September 8, 2011. After making
a certain and notable developments, Calumet High
School was named a Demonstration Site by the New
Tech Network based on our successful and
accelerated implementation schedule, a
distinction usually reserved for year five (5)
New Tech Schools.

Tim Pivarnik has special skills of curriculum
design, education technology, curriculum
development, instructional technology,
educational leadership, staff development,
teacher training, and leadership skills. He has
also instructed as a basketball coach for both
girls and boys teams respectively.

At present, he is attending classes at Indiana
Wesleyan University for his EdS degree and school
superintendents license. He also has a
certification of Indiana Teachers license and
Building Level K12 Administrator License. To
