Denim Jeans for Women Interesting facts
  • Denim jeans have an amazing history and there are
few things that the eager shopper doesnt know
    about them
  • 'Jeans' originates from the French phrase blue de
Gênes, a place where the first denim
trousers were made, and the word 'denim' comes
from Nimes, a city in France. Denim was even used
in the 18th century in the USA.
  •
  • Initially, denim jeans were worn by cowboys and
workers in factories. When you purchase jeans,
only 12 of the cost goes to the person who made
it and over 50 to those who sell it.
  •
  • Unlike womens jeans that contained a zipper down
the right side, jeans for men had it down the
front during the World War II. Denim is built in
mills that are located near the cotton crops as
denim material requires a lot of cotton.
  •
  • On average, every American purchases 7 pairs of
denim jeans. The most expensive costs 250,000.
  •
  • Guinness World Record for longest jeans goes to
China. They made 68 meters long, 35 meters wide
jeans that weights 3 tons. Over a period of time
denim jeans will fade on parts that are exposed
to the stress and that parts includes the ankles,
the areas behind the knees and the upper thighs.
