Title: World Jiu-Jitsu Championship
1Introduction
Sport Brazilian jiu-jitsu's focus on submissions
without the use of strikes while training allows
practitioners to practice at full speed and with
full power, resembling the effort used in a real
competition. Training methods include technique
drills in which techniques are practiced against
a non-resisting partner isolation sparring,
commonly referred to as positional drilling,
where only a certain technique or sets of
techniques are used.
2Performance Jiu- Jitsu Academy
Performance Jiu Jitsu in Fair lawn, NJ - Bergen
County was the first true Gracie Jiu-Jitsu
training facility in North Jersey established way
back in 1998! Almost all classes are taught by
Prof. Louis Vintaloro, A third degree Black Belt
earned directly from the Gracie family with over
22 years of BJJ training under his belt. Prof.
Louis also holds a Bachelors Degree in Education
from William Paterson University.
3Adult Gracie Jiu Jitsu
It is a fact that most fights begin with each
person standing up and that they always end up
with each person on the ground. Whether its a
swift kick, a knockout punch or fancy footwork,
all fights end up on the ground. When you combine
that with the Jiu-Jitsu youll learn from our
instructors.
4Kids Gracie Jiu Jitsu
This class is taught by Impact Jiu Jitsus
instructors, and teaches the art of Brazilian Jiu
Jitsu to kids ages 6 through 14. It is open to
beginners and all belt levels, and teaches
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in an environment that helps
kids strengthen their skill sets, and gain
practical knowledge that will help them grow as
martial artists.
5Instructor
Unlike weight training, it turns out that the
best way to train endurance is to be on the mats!
The hands-down best way to develop specific
endurance for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is to roll! It
doesnt always have to be standard time period
live rolling, either. Short rounds with fast
partner rotations (2 minutes), positional
rolling, and man in the hole drills are a great
way to improve your endurance while also getting
technically better at Jiu Jitsu. And thats
really the important point here.
6Growth Fluency
It was not until 1925 that the Japanese
government itself officially mandated that the
correct name for the martial art taught in the
Japanese public schools should be "judo" rather
than "jujutsu". In Brazil, the art is still
called "jiu-jitsu". When the Gracie's went to the
United States to spread their art, they used the
terms "Brazilian jiu-jitsu" and "Gracie
Jiu-Jitsu" to differentiate from the already
present styles using similar-sounding names. In a
1994 interview with Yoshinori Nishi, Gracie said,
that he didnt even know the word of judo itself,
until the sport came in the 1950s to Brazil,
because he heard that Mitsuyo Maeda called his
style "jiu-jitsu".
