When should we meet an Infertility Specialist ?

• Inability to conceive after 12 months of trying
  for a pregnancy (if you have never conceived
  earlier)
• OR
• After 6 months of trying, if you have had a

What tests are done for Infertile couples?
Tests for males -Semen Analysis- done after 2
to 3 days of abstinance -USG and doppler of the
scrotum -Hormones like Testosterone, SH, LH

Tests for females

• Ultrasound of the uterus and ovaries
• Hormones like FSH, LH, TSH, Insulin
• Tube test (HSG- hysterosalpingography)
• AMH-Anti Muellerian Hormone
• Folliculometry

What are the treatments for Infertility?

• Timed Intercourse(TIC)
• Ovulation Induction and TIC
• IUI- Intrauterine Insemination after Ovulation
  Induction with medicines or injections
• Laparoscopy/ Hysteroscopy
• IVF (Invitro fertilisation)
• ICSI (Intra Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection)

• IUI is Intrauterine Insemination
• Here, the husbands sperms are prepared in the lab
  and transferred into the uterus by a fine cannel

• -Low sperm count
• -Ejaculatory disorders
• -Hostile Cervical mucus
• -Unexplained Infertility
