Quality Assurance (I)
  • Quality assurance is any systematic process of
    checking to see whether a product or service
    being developed is meeting specified requirements
  • Many companies have a separate department devoted
    to quality assurance

Quality Assurance (II)
  • A quality assurance system is said to increase
    customer confidence and a company's credibility,
    to improve work processes and efficiency, and to
    enable a company to better compete with others

  • The organizational structure and set of
    procedures, processes and resources required for
    quality management

Quality Management
  • The act of overseeing all activities and tasks
    needed to maintain a desired level of excellence
  • This includes creating and implementing quality
    planning and assurance, as well as quality
    control and quality improvement.
  • It is also referred to as total quality
    management (TQM).

Quality management elements (I)
  • It is customer-focused. The customer ultimately
    determines the level of quality.
  • Continual improvement is also considered
    essential. It drives an organization to be both
    analytical and creative in finding ways to become
    more competitive and effective.

  • An efficiency imperative that says waste must be
    reduced and all resources maximized is another
    important element
  • It also requires top management support and the
    provision of adequate resources to achieve the
    goals set

  • It aids or facilitates clear understanding
    between all participants
  • Measurement and accurate data collection are
    incorporated within it
  • Documentation of the current, correct approaches
    (procedures, processes) are at its core
