  the region, with roughly 8,400 acres of grapes
  being grown at this very moment. The wines that
  are most prominent here are Cabernet Sauvignon
  and Sauvignon Blanc, but as the region grows, so
  do the number of different wines on offer.

• The grapes grown here are of a higher quality for
  a variety of different reasons that go beyond the
  climate and soil that make most regions great.
  The vast majority of vineyard are planted at a
  height in excess of 1,500 feet, which means they
  are less prone to mildew and attacks from pests.

• As such, the need for pesticides is greatly
  reduced, making for grapes that are quite simply
  perfect for making wine. This is something that
  you will most certainly recognize when you start
  taking part in some Lake County wine tasting.
