Install Your Ubuntu Server
The installation of Ubuntu server is actually
very straight forward and just by performing few
easy and basic steps, you can enjoy all the
features of Ubuntu on your platform. Heres how
to install Ubuntu server, read below.

• First, you have to download the current version
  of Ubuntu server. A 64 bit version is always
  recommended or can download 32 bit version.
• Once downloaded, create a bootable CD/DVD or a
  USB flash and reboot your PC. Depending on which
  installation method you choose, make sure to set
  your BIOS to boot either from USB flash or
  CD/DVD.
• Once booted, follow these steps.
• Select your language and then click on 'Install
  Ubuntu Server' option.
• Select your geographical location and configure
  your keyboard. Then system will detect the
  hardware to find a CD-ROM drive and the
  installation process will detect and load any
  additional component. The installation will
  detect the hardware network at this step.
• Then type your desired hostname for the server
  and select continue. Then type the username and
  password.
• Confirm the time zone. Then select how you want
  your disk to be portioned. If you think you need
  to partition the disk again later, select LVM.

• Enter all the details for your user account and
  select whether you want to encrypt the hard
  drive. During this setup, it might slow down your
  server.
• Enter the details in the next prompt, if you are
  using a proxy server.
• The next step will be to select the software you
  want to install on your server. Press the space
  bar select the software and when you are finished
  press enter to continue. You can also continue
  without installing any software and install it
  later.
• Then. Select yes to install the GRUB Boot loader
  (only select this if there are no other operating
  systems on the PC, as it will overwrite any
  existing boot loaders).
• Now remove the install disc and finish the
  installation.
