4
BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
The condemned man who needs SALVATION. A sinful man Separated from God by sin and carelessly waiting for destruction (eternal death).Rom 623
5
THE MECHANISM OF SALVATION
Salvation through the death of Christ on the CROSS (eternal live).
1 Corinthians 1556-57
56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of
sin is the law 57 but thanks be to God, who
gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus
Christ.
6
Introduction
  • Salvation from Sin and death is a Universal Need
of all man, both old and young, man and woman.
  • Over the years, many have been roaming the street
of the world without Christ and others with death
penalty hanging round their neck hopelessly
    without a savior.
  • They seem to have lost their way and every
connection to the saving cross. They have never
been saved and really do not understand the need
    to be saved.

7
Introduction Contd
  • Today, we believe that there are many people who
would like to have a better understanding of
Jesus Christ and the Salvation that He offers,
  • And we believe that many such people will receive
Christ once they truly understand their need for
    Him especially today.
  • Many people do not appreciate the salvation that
Jesus offers because they have wandered away and
allowed sins to rein in their mortal bodies.

8
SALVATION
  • The word salvation means deliverance from danger
    or suffering.
  • But in this context, salvation concerns an
    eternal, spiritual deliverance.
  • There is no doubt that a sinner man is in deep
danger of eternal destruction in hell fire and
must accept the offer of salvation.
  • For instance, a sinner is like a man who fall
into a deep well and needs to be saved and on
    time.

9
SALVATION Contd
  • However, there things he must do for his
    salvation to be sure.
  • Romans 58 But God commended his love toward us,
in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died
    for us.
  • It is important to note that Christ death is
major part of Gods plan to save mankind.

10
WHY WAS THERE NEED FOR THE PLAN OF SALVATION?
  • Because man has become continually wicked over
time and God has vowed to destroy man whom he has
    created Gen. 65-7.
  • Because all have sinned, and come short of the
    glory of God. Romans 323.
  • Because there is none righteous, no, not one.
    Romans 310.
  • Because sin has brought death upon all man Romans
    512.

11
WHAT ARE WE SAVED FROM?
  • We are saved from the wrath of God, i.e from the
judgment of sin (Roman 59 1Thess59).
  • Our sin has separated us from God, and the
consequence of sin is death (Roman 623).
  • Biblical salvation refers to our deliverance from
the consequence of sin and therefore involves the
    removal of sin.

12
WHO DOES THE SAVING?
  • Only God can remove sin and deliver us from sins
    penalty (2 Tim 19 Titus 35).
  • God our Savior desires all men to be saved and
come to the knowledge of the truth.
  • This is why Christ gave Himself as a ransom for
    all. 1 Timothy 23,4,6.
  • The grace of God that brings salvation has
appeared to all men Titus 211

13
WHO DOES THE SAVING? Contd
  • The Samaritans said they had learned that
Jesus is the Savior of the world. John 442.
  • The gospel is the power of God unto salvation to
everyone who believes Jew and Gentile. Romans
    116

14
HOW DOES GOD SAVE?
  • God has rescued us through Christ (John 317).
  • Specifically, it was Jesus death on the cross
and subsequent resurrection that achieved our
    salvation (Roman 510 Eph.17).
  • Scripture is clear that salvation is the
gracious, undeserved gift of God (Eph. 25,8) and
is only available through faith in Jesus Christ
    (Acts 412).

15
WHO NEED SALVATION?
  • Sinners, fornicators and you, yes you out there,
who can hear our voice today for tomorrow may be
    too late.
  • Atheist.
  • Traditional worshipers.
  • None Christians.

16
. HOW DO WE RECEIVE SALVATION?
  • We receive salvation by fulfilling the salvation
    requirements.
  • 1. GOD'S PART and 2. MANS PART
  • GOD'S PART
  • The great love of God for man (John 316)
  • He gave His Son, Jesus Christ, as the Saviour
    (Luke1910).
  • .
  • Sent the Holy Spirit as a guide (John 1613).
  • Gave the Gospel as "the power" unto salvation
    (Rom.116)
  • Provided atonement by the blood of Christ
    (Rom.59) .

17
STEP ONE HEAR
  • Romans 1017
  • "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by
    the word of God.
  • What do you need to hear? Jesus is the Son of God
who came to earth and died for our sins. Then
rose and lives at the right hand of God.

18
STEP TWO BELIEVE
  • Acts 1043 "Of Him all the prophets bear witness
that through His name everyone who believes in
Him receives forgiveness of sins."What do they
need to believe? Jesus is the
  • John 2031 31 but these are written so that you
may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of
God, and that by believing you may have life in
    his name.
  • See also Mark 1616 John 824 and Romans 109

19
Step Three REPENT
  • Luke 133 "... unless you repent you will all
likewise perish."Repent means "sorrow for sin
that leads to a change". It also means "turning
away from something (sin) and towards something
    else (God)."See also Matthew 32 Mark 115
    612 Acts 39 1730

20
Step Four CONFESS
  • Romans 109 "if you confess with your mouth the
Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has
raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."We
must believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of
the living God, and accept Him as our personal
Savior! To whom do we confess this belief in
    Jesus? EVERYONE!

21
Step Five BAPTISM
  • Acts 238 "... be baptized in the name of Jesus
Christ for the remission of sins"The Greek word
    "baptizo" (baptism) actually means "immersion".
Baptism can only be done by completely immersing
a person in water.See also Acts 2216 Gal.
