Laminated Safety Glass
Laminated glass is made up of Polyvinyl Butyral
(PVB) layer bonded together between two panes of
glass under heat and pressure. The glass is a
single unit and looks like normal glass when it
is sealed together. Laminated safety glass is
considered the best barrier against break. If
someone attempts to gain unauthorized access, he
would have to break through the two pieces of
glass which would be time consuming and the owner
of the property will get the time to take an
appropriate action.
3
Annealed Plate Glass
Annealed glass is cooled in a slow and controlled
manner due to which the internal stresses within
the sheet of glasses gets reduced and it becomes
stronger. It is heated above a transition point
and then allowed to cool slowly. It is commonly
used in bathrooms, fire exits, at low heights in
schools and houses, in door panels etc.
4
Float Glass
Float glass is made from molten glass which is
passed onto a pool of molten tin. It is superior
in quality when compared to other flat glasses.
It is known for its unique characteristics of
excellent surface finishing, flatness, uniform
thickness, high optical quality and bright
appearance. Float glasses are used in Automotive
glasses, reflective glasses, windows, mirror,
table tops etc.
5
Tempered Safety Glass
Tempered glass is made by taking a piece of
annealed glass and makes it four times as strong.
When annealed glass is cut and finished to size,
it is then heated about 1200 degrees of
Fahrenheit. The glass is then rapidly cooled due
to which internal portion of the glass remain
fluid for some time. It is used as a safety glass
which can be shatter into small granular pieces
that reduces the risk of injury. Tempered glass
is placed in side windows of a car so that it can
be broken away in the case of emergency.
