ETHICS
  • DEFINITION
  • Ethics is a branch of philosophy that deals with
    moral component of human life.
  • It reflects a societys notions about the
    rightness or wrongness of an act and the
    distinctions between virtue and vice.

LAW
  • A recognized causal link or principle whose
    violation must or should result in a penalty as
    failure, injury, loss, or pain.
  • The binding rules of conduct meant to enforce
    justice and prescribe duty or obligation, and
    derived largely from custom or formal enactment
    by a ruler or legislature.

Difference between Laws Ethics
  • Law is a set of universal rules that are framed,
    accepted when usually enforced
  • Ethics on the other hand define how individuals
    prefer to interact with one another

Laws Ethics
  • Laws are rules developed by governments.
  • A written form and hence a law is published
    requirements are compelled to be obeyed by the
    members of a society.
  • Ethics everything depends on the persons
    conscience.
  • Ethics on the other hand cannot be compelled and
    hence they cannot be enforced, totally depends on
    the individual

  • Principles of ethics and of good practice to
    address the specific challenges faced by
    professional journalists
  • "Code of ethics" or the "canons of journalism."

  • Some codes of ethics have the force of law
    Violations of these codes may be subject to
    administrative (e.g., Loss of license), civil or
    penal remedies
  • Others can be enforced by the promulgating
    organization alone a violation of these codes is
    usually limited to loss of membership in the
    organization.

    article and think about
