  • Yellowstone is paradise for nature-lovers. With
miles of hiking trails, hot springs, and stunning
views, the park is a must for any bucket list.
With a 25 entrance fee per vehicle, this
destination is affordable as well. Plus, if you
plan to visit several national parks this summer,
save money by purchasing a 50 annual pass. The
pass provides entrance to pass holder and
accompanying passengers in a single vehicle at
Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks.

3
  • Another must-see destination is breathtaking
Grand Canyon National Park, often considered one
of the seven natural wonders of the world. Skip
pricey hotels in the area and see the site by air
with a Grand Canyon tour from Las Vegas. Papillon
offers aerial sightseeing and helicopter tours
that are affordably priced, with flights leaving
from conveniently located airports in Arizona and
    Nevada.

4
  • Austin is known worldwide as a destination for
live music. Walking downtown youre sure to find
all genres of music being performed in bars,
cafes, and even parks often free of charge.
Austin has many other free sightseeing options,
    including
  • The Texas Memorial Museum at University of Texas
The museum offers an in-depth look at the states
    vibrant past.
  • Mount Bonnell This park/open space area has
views of Lake Austin and the surrounding hills.
  • Congress Avenue Bridge Each night, witness the
largest urban bat colony in the United States
take flight from the tunnels under the bridge.

5
  • Portland is home to many free tourist activities,
    including
  • International Rose Test Garden This space is
where experimental roses are cultivated, and
features over 10,000 individual roses from 500
    varieties, bursting in rainbow hues.
  • Portland Farmers Market There are many great
markets located all over the city, but the
Portland State University market is most
recommended. The weekly event is home to over 100
stands, including local produce, fresh baked
goods, Oregon wine, and other edible creations.
  • Stumptown Coffee Roasters With locations across
the United States, Stumptown is known for
delicious and authentic coffee beans. Best of
all, at 3PM Monday through Friday, visitors to
    Stumptowns Portland headquarters can participate
    in a guided java tasting.

  • Once youve arrived at your destination, save
money on hotels by looking for room options on
crowd-sourced lodging site Airbnb. The site lets
worldwide residents rent out their homes for
profit. Airbnb offers full homes for rent so you
can enjoy peace and quiet, but better deals can
be had if youre willing to rent a single room.

7
  • Traveling by plane or train is typically the most
expensive option for getting across the country.
Look for bus tickets instead, especially in areas
like the Northeast where excellent public
transportation systems offer fares as little as
1 each way. Another option is to travel with
friends, road trip style, so you can split the
    cost of gas.

8
  • Getting around in a new city can be difficult
and pricey. Avoid cabs and in some cases, public
transportation, which can add up fast. Try to
walk as much as possible. Not only is walking
free, but it offers great exercise. If you must
take public transportation, look for day passes
or other discounts to save money.

9
  • If youre on vacation, its normal to splurge on
a few gourmet meals. In between, however, stick
to inexpensive options like street food or happy
hour menus. If you end up staying at an Airbnb
rental or other property that offers access to a
kitchen, stock up on groceries to save even more
    on food costs!

yearly passengers on daily tours of the Grand
