With increasing obesity among people, we often
forget to care for our dogs for the same. Having
a soft corner towards our dogs, we often treat
them so nicely that we make them fat eventually.
As a pet they dont know when to stop but as a
pet parent you can. Although if you missed it

Learn to check if your pet is obese or not?
If your dog is visibly fat, and you can easily
find it, it is better but if you are not sure
whether your dog is fat or not. Checkout his
waist. Is it perfectly toned? If no, he is fat.
Still confused? Run your hand over his ribcage.
If you can feel his ribcage under a thin layer of
flesh and fat, he is average but if you cant
then its the time to get alert shed that fat.

How to deal with pet obesity?
One probable reason for dog obesity is the
Hypothyroidism. Your vet might not tell be able
to diagnose that your dog is fat due to
Hypothyroidism but be smart and get the blood
test too. If in the blood test it is proven that
it is not due to Hypothyroidism, then its time
to get rid of the fat by implementing a good diet

How to deal with pet obesity?
Start by cutting 1/4th of your poochs total
diet. As one of the reason of your dogs
obesity can be the lack of physical activity
which makes his metabolism lower due to lethargy.
So take him out for a walk too. Another good
way to make your dog exercise is to take him to
the swimming pool. Dog loves to swim and it would
be a great exercise too. While he is enjoying
swimming, he would be shedding some weight too.

Special Instructions
After every few days, keep weighing your dog to
make sure he is losing some weight. If you find
that cutting 1/4th and exercising him is not
working out well, cut some more out of his
food. It might be tough initially and your dog
might keep whining for a while for food but never
let that behavior make you unhappy. Be strong and
make yourself sure that as of now, your priority
is his health, not his food.

Avoid pre-made food and feed your dog with
home-made nutritious food as much as possible.
As you have to be strict with your dogs diet,
also make sure that you dont give him treat
every now and then. Convince your other family
members too that your dog is in health problem
and he has to avoid eating too much
