Hajj Definition

• A pilgrimage to Mecca during Dhu'l Hijja,
  considered obligatory for every Muslim who is
  capable of undertaking it at least once in his or
  her life.
• The fifth pillar of Islam is a pilgrimage to
  Mecca during the month of Dhu al-Hijja at least
  once in a lifetime a Muslim is expected to make a
  religious journey to Mecca and the Kaaba "for a
  Muslim the hajj is the ultimate act of worship.

Three Types of Hajj

• Before 8th dhul-hijjah one who want to perform
  hajj pronounced the intention to perform Umrah
  while approaching meeqat.
• On the 8th Dhul-hijjah pilgrims pronounces new
  niyyah of hajj.
• Niyyah for hajj is O Allah! I intend to perform
  Hajj. Make it easy for me and accept it from me.
  I make the niyyah for Hajj and enter into the
  state of Ihram for the sake of Allah alone, the
  Most High.
