One of the first steps in the merger and
acquisition ("MA") process after executing a
confidentiality agreement ("Confi") or
non-disclosure agreement ("NDA") is the issuance
of a non binding letter of intent. A letter of
intent, referred to as the "LOI", is a legal
document that is provided to show interest in
progressing with a transaction, such as to
purchase, joint venture or merger.

What I find most interesting is that the more
senior our clients, the less time they seem to
spend on making the most of their CVs, most
likely because they think their experience alone
sells them well enough. Your personal summary or
statement though on your CV is the first thing a
prospective employer will be looking at, in
addition to your covering letter.
