What is porous materials ???
  • The materials that consists continuous and solid
    network material filled through voids.
  • If a material consists an internal void then it
    can be said as porous material
  • The first porous material was synthesized by
    using single template molecule consisting of
    zeolites having aluminosilicate frameworks

Nanoporous materials
  • Any materials that consists of pores in the size
    of nano level in its structure is called a porous
    materials.
  • Nanoporous materials consists of a regular
    organic or inorganic frameworks supporting
    regular porous structures.
  • Size 100nm
  • These can be classified into further bulk and
    membrane materials
  • Ex Activated carbon , zeolites

What is a mesoporous material?
  • If the pores diameter is of size 2nm to 50 nm
    then it is called a MESOPOROUS MATERIAL.
  • A patent was given in 1970 for the fabrication.
  • In 1997 these were produced in japan
    laboratories.

  • Mesoporous materials are classified as follows
  • Ordered Mesoporous materials
  • Disordered mesoporous materials
  • Purely organic
  • Organic inorganic hybrid
  • Purely inorganic

  • Silica and alumina with similar sized mesopores.
  • Oxides of tantalum, niobium, titanium, zirconium
    tin
  • Gold, silver are also embedded for the system

  • Soft template (endo template)
  • Hard template (exo template, nano casting)
