• Rajkot is the fourth largest city located in
  Gujarat and is one of the fastest growing city of
  the country. The city stands at 22nd position
  amongst the fastest growing cities in the world.
  With the coming up of more and more number of

  state way back in the year 1610, gave the city

• Being located in southwestern Gujarat, the
  city serves as the administrative head of the
  state. 16 rivers flow through this region and
  Nyari and Aji rivers are considered as the major
  river here. The city witnesses mild winters and
  dry summers. This region is a cyclone prone
  region and receives cyclones from the Arabian
  Sea.

• The Rajkot railway station is the main station of
  Rajkot, Gujarat. It comes under the Western
  Railways zone of the wide network of Indian
  Railways. The station has 5 platforms and 9
  tracks to cater a number of express trains which
  passes through this region. The station also has

Rajkot cuisine

• The cuisine of the city is predominantly
  vegetarian because of a large number of
  population belonging to Jainism and Hinduism
  religion. The food is a blend of spicy, sweet and
  salty dishes. The famous dishes here include, the
  Rajkot khichdi, yoghurt curry etc. Jaggery is
  here used as an alternative to sugar in various
  food items. A mango pulp dish is also famous from
  this city.

• The culture of this city has witnessed various
  transformations over the period. The city has a
  strong influence of each and every religion-
  Hinduism, Islam, Jainism and Buddhism. There is a
  confluence of a large number of languages in this
  region. Traditional outfits such as saaree,
  chania choli, kedia dress, kurtas and dhotis are
  often seen being worn by the people of this city.
  The Soni community present here are a great
  patrons for the silver jewellery. The city is
  also well known for textile printing. Small
  ornaments of wood carved in the city are also
  famous.
