Indian Distribution Transformers

1. Conservator - It is a type of tank that is used
   to help oil filling in the transformer. This
   cylindrical part of the transformer is located at
   the upper side of the power transformer.
2. Tank - It is a type of container where user can
   keep windings and cooling oil.
3. Breather - It is a kind of device used to absorb
   the moisture present in the oil and vacuum air.

4. Butchholz relay - This part protects the
windings of the transformer. It has double ends,
one is connected to conservator and other is to
tank. The two windings inside the Butchholz relay
are having different uses. One is used for
determining oil level of the transformer, while
other is connected to alarm circuit to notify
user if the oil level is low. 5. Silica Gel- This
is a chemical based part located inside the
breather. Silica gel is used to absorb moisture.
It is a brown colored gel that changes its color
to pink once it absorbs moisture.

6. Primary winding - These are main element of
the transformer connected with external
connections from the power. 7. Secondary winding
- This is another winding used to lower the power
in step down transformers. 8. Oil level scale-
this is a common part located on the conservator
side. It is used for proper oil checking. 9.
Drain valve- Drain valve is used for transmitting
worn oil from the oil tank. This valve is placed
at the bottom of the oil tank. 10. Porcelin brush
- This brush is an outer part used for preventing
unwanted leakage of power electricity.

11. Radiator- This part helps in keeping the oil
cool. 12.Tap changer- It is used for tapping of
the Xmer at distinct levels. All these parts are
vital for every Indian distribution transformers
manufacturers. If any of the parts get premature
failure or damage, take your equipment to
professional site and get the faults repaired by
experts. It is advisable not to try repairing
defected parts if you don't have any prior
experience.
