Chhattisgarh demanded the inclusion in Special
Category of States to boost innumerable tourism
opportunities .The State Government has made
greater efforts to get World Heritage Site
recognition for Sirpur which is of great
religious importance for Buddhism, Shaivism and
Vaishnav.

Honbl Minister of Tourism and Culture, Govt. of
Chhattisgarh, Ajay Chandrakar at the Second
National Conference of Tourism Ministers
reiterated his commitment to develop Chhattisgarh
as Indias top tourism destination.

The Kurud Minister in Chhattisgarh has aimed at
developing the state on lines of the same special
status accorded to Jammu Kashmir and the
northeastern states for developing its tourism
industry.

Chhattisgarh has immense potential for
ecotourism with 44 of the state being forested.
The central government should create some special
conditions to develop the same. It will help in
establishing Chhattisgarh as the countrys prime
ecotourism hub, and can help in increasing the
number of tourists into the state.

The Kurud Minister in Chhattisgarh ,Ajay
Chandrakar also demanded for greater cooperation
from the Central Government in ways of
infrastructure support and funds. He also
requested that the centre for funds to develop
the countrys biggest tribal hub in Chhattisgarh.

This fest is aimed to bring together tribal
components from across the state in terms of
social living, food, culture and tradition and
showcase it in a never seen before platform to
the world.

Ajay Chandrakar also aimed at the state
governments elaborate plans to develop the
Buddhist Tourism Circuit in Sirpur in
association with the Central Government. The
State Government has made greater efforts to get
World Heritage Site recognition for Sirpur.

The development of paratourism activities in the
state will also prove beneficial in creating
employment opportunities for the youth and bring
greater prosperity to the states economy. The
development of Institute of Hotel Management in
the state for brings out local cuisine and tastes
to the world must be made fast in progress.
