Top 5 Hotspots to Visit in San Francisco
2
San Francisco is the city with something for
everyone including families, couples, individual
travelers and group vacationers. A city this size
has an endless supply of things to see and places
to visit, so weve narrowed the list down to the
must-see destinations within the city. From the
world famous attractions to the local favorites,
these are the five hotspots that you need to
visit during your stay in The City by the Bay.

1. Golden Gate Bridge
Known worldwide, the Golden Gate Bridge is a San
Francisco staple. If its your first time to the
city, then take a journey across this 1.7-mile
long art deco bridge. Pedestrian traffic is
allowed access to the bridge, a journey that
takes around an hour to complete on foot. The
Welcome Center is open daily, offering
educational exhibits as well as general
historical information.

2. San Francisco Cable Cars
San Franciscos cable cars are almost as well
known as the Golden Gate Bridge. Before the cable
car system, horse-drawn streetcars were the most
popular form of public transportation.
Unfortunately, the hills and wet conditions of
San Francisco caused many traumatic accidents,
killing both horses and humans. Started in 1873
by Andrew Hallidie, the cable cars now run all
over the city and offer one-way tickets and one,
three or seven day passes.

3. Stern Grove
If you visit the city during the summer, be sure
to check out the Stern Grove Festival. Located in
Sigmund Stern Grove, the festival offers free
concerts every single Sunday during the months of
June, July, and August. Previous years have
included performances by the San Francisco
Symphony, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, and OK Go.

4. Chinatown
San Francisco Chinatown dates back to the
mid-1800s. The area is home to over 100,000
individuals as well as hundreds of restaurants
and shops, so even if youve visited the area
before, there is still more to see. Be sure to
check out the famed Portsmouth Square, which is
home to an art and sculpture collection that also
serves as a childrens playground called Tot Lot.
7
5. Pier 39
Pier 39 isnt as widely publicized as some of the
other destination, but it is the hot spot that
everyone goes to when they visit San Francisco.
Although it is located on an actual pier, the
name refers to the shopping center that houses a
collection of restaurants, museums, shops and
rides. Even if youd prefer to avoid the crowds
of the shopping center, be sure to stop by and
check out the sea lions that hang out at the pier
and take in the breathtaking views that the
Bayside has to offer. Be sure to check out these
hotspots during next vacation or business trip to
the great San Fran.
