  • The ancient city of Aurangabad is located in
    the district of the same name in the state of
    Maharashtra. The city gets its name from Emperor
    Aurangzeb, the last free Mughal Emperor of India.
    The city is also referred to as the City of
    Gates, thanks to the 52 gates that are present
    within the city. Aurangabad is a major tourist
    destination known for the various historical
    monuments present in its vicinity. The most
    prominent of these are the famous caves of Ajanta
    and Ellora, Bibi Ka Maqbara, which has been
    recognized as a World Heritage site by UNESCO,
    Salim Ali Lake and Bird Sanctuary, Panchakki, and
    Aurangabad Caves.

  • The Aurangabad railway station falls under
    the Nanded division of South Central Railway Zone
    of Indian Railways. The station is one of the
    most important junctions in the region as it
    offers connectivity to visitors coming from
    different parts of India. With the city being a
    major tourist hub, the station handles a large
    rush of passengers and trains on a daily basis.
    Several important trains pass through the station
    at all hours of the day and night. That is why it
    is quite common for railway passengers traveling

    similarities with the Mughlai and Hyderabadi

    influence of the Hyderabadi culture and

    culture of Hyderabad. The prominence of Dakhni-
    Hydrabadi dialect is a further proof of this
    influence. The people in the city are known to
    over various art forms, particularly poetry and
    literature. The city is known to have produced
    renowned poets such as Wali Dakhni, Siraj
    Aurangabadi and Sikandar Ali Wajid to name a few.
