3The teeth play very important roles in your
day-to-day life, especially because they are what
you use in chewing your food that is why you
should keep them healthy. However, it is a fact
that as you age your teeth also deteriorate, but
that doesnt mean you cannot do anything to save
them. Here are some tips on how to keep your

5? Proper Nutrition What you eat can affect
the health of your teeth and gums, so choosing
the right foods is indeed necessary. You should
always remember that your mouth is full of germs
and bacteria caused by starch and sugar coming
from the food that you eat which can result in
having a plaque. When this plaque is not
removed, acid is produced. This attacks your
tooth enamel which will cause decay. Hence, it is
recommended that you choose foods that are low in
sugar and starch as they can reduce the chances
of acid being produced in your mouth.
6? Brushing Brushing your teeth is necessary as
it can reduce your chances of developing
infections. It is a fact that the bacteria in
your mouth that cause abscessed teeth can lead to
a more serious problem which can affect your
heart, lungs or even the brain.
7? Flossing Flossing is also highly recommended
as it removes the food debris that is trapped in
between teeth. However, Alla Wheeler of the New
York University School of Dentistry said that
there is no instant gratification with flossing.
Wheeler further added that flossing is the only
thing that can really get into that space between
the teeth and remove bacteria. This simply means
that flossing can really help.
8 ? Regular Dental Visits We cannot deny that
fact that some people do not visit their dentist
regularly. One reason is fear of dentists or
injections another is they want to save the
money. However, a regular visit to your dentist
is the only way to keep your teeth strong and
healthy even as you grow older.
