Overview about Chalkie Davis

• "Chalkie Davis In 1973, Welsh-born Davies joined
  the UK-based music magazine NME as a staff
  photographer, and shot numerous covers and
  features for the publication. Over the next
  decade the duo produced a great number of sleeves
  for numerous clients including Elvis Costello,
  Pete Townshend, The Specials, The Pretenders,
  Pink Floyd, Elton John and David Bowie. However,
  there came a point in the mid-1980s when Chalkie
  decided it was time to move on. He had produced
  fashion and still life photography, in addition
  to music photography, for Arena and The Face
  which gave him the idea for his next venture.
  Chalkie moved with his wife Carol Starr to New
  York where they set-up a photographic studio
  called Davies and Starr producing mainly high
  quality still life photographs for products.
