How Cochlear Implant works

• Sound Processor External sound processor
  captures sound and converts it in digital signal.
• Digital Signal Processor sends digital signals
  to internal implant
• Electrode Array Internal implant converts signal
  into electrical energy sending it to electrode
  array inside the cochlea.
• Hearing Nerve Electrodes stimulate the hearing
  nerve bypassing non functioning hair cells. The
  brain perceives the signals as sound enabling the
  person to hear.

• Inner ear must be free from infection
• Medically suitable to undergo surgery
