• Alok Gupta joined the Group in 1999 after
  completing a degree in Chemical Engineering from
  Cambridge University.
• Alok spent his initial years focusing on the
  trading side of the operations for the steel and
  chemical businesses.
• During his stint in trading operations Alok
  significantly increased procurement and supply
  chain efficiencies.
• He increased the trading portfolio to include
  products such as wood, hardboard, paper and
  packaging.

• Alok today spearheads all the manufacturing
  efforts of African Industries.
• Given his technical expertise, he took
  responsibility for implementing the groups
  manufacturing strategy.
• He coordinated the project teams that set up the
  groups first steel plant in 2004.
• Aloks hands-on experience has been key to
  driving the additional steel capacity investments
  in African Foundries and Abuja Steel Mills.
