Chromo therapy, sometimes called color therapy,
or cromatherapy, is an alternative medicine
method, which is considered pseudo
science. Chromo therapists claim to be able to
use light in the form of color to balance
"energy" lacking from a person's body, whether it
be on physical, emotional, spiritual, or mental
levels. Research has shown it is ineffective.
Color therapy is distinct from other types
of light therapy, such as neonatal jaundice
treatment and blood irradiation therapy which is
a scientifically accepted medical treatment for a
number of conditions, and from photobiology, the
scientific study of the effects of light on
living organisms.
3Eligibility

To become a Chromotherapist or a Colour therapy
practitioner, one must have completed either a
Diploma or a Bachelor course in Chromo Therapy.
Basic knowledge in biology, chemistry and physics
is essential to venture into this field. In
India, only few institutions are offering courses
in Chromo Therapy/Colour Therapy as a particular
subject. Most colleges teach Chromo-therapy as
one of the subjects in the 5 ½-year Bachelor of
Naturopathy Yogic Sciences (BNYS) course.
4Job Prospects

Even though, Chromo therapy treatment has been in
practice in India from olden times, career
opportunities in this field are relatively few
because this ancient form of therapy is neither
well-known nor accepted by the common public.
Qualified persons in this field can work as
Chromo therapists in hospitals, naturopathy
clinics, nature cure health centre offering
alternative medicines, or can open their own
therapy clinic. To achieve success in the field
of Color therapy, one need to build up and
maintain sound reputation and client base. Chromo
therapists can even do research work or join the
field of education.
