What is cloud computing?
  • Cloud computing is A comprehensive solution that
delivers IT as A service. Computers in the cloud
are configured to work together and the various
applications use the collective computing power
as if they are running on A single system. The
articles and webcast highlight the fundamental
concepts in the cloud computing business model as
well as the key reasons to move to the cloud.

Types Of Clouds
  • Public Cloud
  • Private Cloud
  • Community Cloud
  • Hybrid Cloud

5
Benefits Of Cloud Computing
  • As cloud computing continues to mature and
becomes an integral part of IT, IT organizations
will increasingly look to evolve in ways that
demonstrate value in a cloud world.
  • Cloud services brokerage (CSB) is less likely
    happens
  • used for file synchronization between computing
devices (PCs, laptops, media tablets and/or
    smartphones)
  • for sharing files for collaboration and for
sharing data across applications on devices such
    as the iPad.

Cloud Deployment Models
  • Private clouds
  • Public clouds
  • Hybrid clouds
  • Community clouds

7
Cloud Deployment Models
  • Private clouds are operated solely for one
organization. They may be managed by the
organization itself or by a third party and they
may be located on or off The users premises.
  • Public clouds are open to the general public or a
large industry group and are owned and managed by
a cloud service provider. These are located off
    the users Premises.
  • Hybrid clouds combine two or more clouds (private
or public) that remain unique entities but are
bound together by technology that enables data
    and application portability.
  • Community clouds feature infrastructure that is
shared by several organizations and supports a
specific community of users. They may be managed
by the user organizations or a third party, and
they may be located on or off the users premises.

Hybrid Cloud Computing
  • Hybrid clouds are a connection or integration
between two clouds usually between an internal
private cloud and an external public cloud that
enable a variety of use cases, including
  • Split-application architecture
  • On-demand capacity (also called cloud bursting)
  • Warm-site disaster recovery
  • Follow-the-sun operations
  • Data center migration

9
Why Are Hybrid Cloud Services Useful?
  • Internal private cloud services combined with
    external private cloud services
  • Internal private cloud services plus public cloud
    services
  • Internal private cloud services plus community
    cloud services
  • Community cloud services plus public cloud
    services
