The Benefits Of Gold Electroplating

Electroplating refers to a process through which
one metal is plated onto another one through the
process of hydrolysis this is usually done for
many reasons but especially corrosion prevention
or decorative purposes. There are different
specific types of the electroplating service such
as copper plating service, silver plating service
or nadcap certified nickel electroplating. The
electroplating service allows manufacturers to
use affordable metals such as zinc and steel for
many products before they can apply other
expensive metals on top of them to allow them to
look better as well as other important factors
such as protection or any other desired
properties.

Gold is considered the noblest of all metals it
is excellent in resistance to oxidation and
corrosion in most environments in addition to
being the most non-reactive all metals. Gold
doesnt react with oxygen and this makes it
extremely resistant to rust or any form of
tarnishing. However, the issue of cost ensures
that gold is almost always used sparingly. If
nadcap certified gold electroplating isnt done
perfectly, the smallest gap will lead to
corrosion nadcap gold electroplating ensures
that manufacturers take advantage of its good
conductivity without necessarily breaking the
bank.

People have used gold since time immemorial as a
form of currency as a well as a symbol of wealth
gold is recorded to have been used in the kingdom
of Lydia from as early as 700 BC. However, there
are other functional benefits that are associated
with gold. The first one is the nobility of gold
since it isnt vulnerable to corrosion and
oxidation in any kind of environment it is also
known to be the most non-reactive metal of all.

During nadcap certified gold electroplating, it
is normally applied as thin plating especially on
connection points. While most other metals have a
tendency to form thin layers of oxide on their
surfaces when they get exposed to air, gold is
not subject to that. Most other surfaces are also
not very conductive and will become less
uniformed or pitted from the related chemical
reactions which create ineffective mating
surfaces for the connectors. Since gold does not
oxidize like the other metals, it provides a
reliable smooth surface that creates a good
connection with the mated surface.

Nadcap gold electroplating is also used in places
where extremely thin wires are required such as
where not even the slightest amount of
cross-sectional area should get lost to oxidation
for fear that it will lose its capacity. The
process is nadcap certified as a guarantee that
the electroplating service has been done with the
greatest precision without any room for error
this is because even the minutest exposed area
will cause internal oxidation to begin. Nadcap
certified nickel electroplating can also be used
for the protection of valuable antiques and
enhancing their aesthetic value.
