Fixed tooth replacement

Description:

Dental bridges literally bridge the gap created by one or more missing teeth. A bridge is made up of two or more crowns for the teeth on either side of the gap -- these two or more anchoring teeth are called abutment teeth -- and a false tooth/teeth in between. – PowerPoint PPT presentation

Title: Fixed tooth replacement

1
FIXED TOOTH REPLACEMENT IN CHENNAI
2
  • When all teeths are missing and in such condition
that they need to be replaced, a fixed bridge
anchored to dental implants is the best permanent
solution. It is possible to replace a full jaw
with fixed bridge and dental implants which
results in a permanent and a stable solution.

3
DENTAL CROWNS
  • Crowns are fixed devices that are cemented onto
existing teeth or implants by a dentist. They are
used commonly to entirely cover or "cap" a
decayed tooth or cover an implant. crowns can be
used to improve a tooths appearance, shape, and
alignment . Gaps caused by missing teeth can lead
the remaining teeth to shift, which can result in
    a bad bite.

4
IMPLANT SUPPORTED BRIDGE
  • They are similar to a regular bridge. When an
implant-supported bridge is used, one implant is
installed for each missing tooth.A drawback of
cemented implant-supported bridges are that they
cannot be easily removed as they are permanently
    fixed.Like that, implant-supported bridges reduce
the need for "cutting down" adjacent teeth and
can have a better long-term prognosis for dental
    patients.

5
IMPLANT SUPPORTED COMPLETE DENTURE
  • complete denture is an appliance replacing all
the teeth of one jaw, as well as associated
    structures of the jaw.
  • fixed partial denture is a partial denture held
in position by attachments to adjacent prepared
natural teeth, roots, or implants called also
    bridge.
  • implant denture is an artificial denture or
single tooth retained and stabilized by a
framework or post implanted in the bone.

6
SINGLE TEETH REPLACEMENT
  • Teeth can be replaced with a fixed bridge if
there are teeth in the area that are adequate in
number and strong to support the artificial
teeth. In order to construct a bridge, the
nearest teeth are prepared by reducing their size
to remove all the enamel, making room for the
prosthetic tooth restoration. A prosthetic tooth
can be suspended between adjacent teeth in this
way to provide a functional and cosmetic
    replacement for the missing tooth.

7
DENTAL IMPLANTS
  • Dental implants are replacement tooth roots.
Implants provide a strong foundation for
removable replacement or permanent teeth that
are made to match your natural teeth.

8
DENTAL BRIDGES
  • Dental bridges are commonly used to cover a space
if there is missing one or more teeth. They are
cemented to natural teeth or implants surrounding
the space where the tooth once stood. It helps in
restoring smile and ability to properly chew and
speak. Helps in maintaining shape of the face
and prevent remaining teeth from drifting out of
    position
