Members of the Fishermen United Front, Tuticorin,
have sought a CBI enquiry into the illegal beach
sand mining to restrain the illegal activity.

A. Subash Fernando, district secretary of the
Front, claims that the coastal populace has
little faith in the special team constituted by
Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa for assessing the
issues of illegal sand mining in the district.
Jayalalithaa and, director of VV Mineral, have
been linked forcefully. VV Minerals has major
shareholding of Jaya TV is being used as a ploy.
