Title: Modi Government should learn from E-Governance in Uttar Pradesh
1Modi Government should learn from
E-Governance Uttar Pradesh
2Uttar Pradesh is a populated state and thus holds
great importance in the development of the entire
country. Modi government in the centre has
launched Digital India campaign under which
e-governance is an important factor. Uttar
Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav is also setting good
examples in digitally empowering Uttar Pradesh.
3Akhilesh Yadavs Government has multi-dimensional
strategy to provide the benefits of Information
Technology e-governance to the society. It is
for the Modi government to see that CM Akhilesh
Yadavs efforts have developed Uttar Pradesh to a
state where computer literacy and awareness has
reached in all areas. Under the dynamic
leadership of CM Akhilesh Yadav, Uttar Pradesh
ranks third best state for E-Governance in the
quarterly ranking released by the Union
Department of Electronics and Information
Technology (DEIT) on October 31, 2015.
4Modi Government talks about digitization of the
country and Akhilesh Yadavs Government makes it
real. We can firmly say this, because of
following reasons -
- Uttar Pradesh is also a leading state in Aadhar
card generation. - Uttar Pradesh had 174 Ongoing Projects under
Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) for the year
2015-16, which was 6.64 of the total 2621
Ongoing Projects under DBT for the year 2015-16. - Uttar Pradesh, is a leading state in setting up
maximum e-Governance infrastructure projects
which includes projects like e-village,e-setu,
e-district etc as well as Common Service Centres
(CSCs), State Portal, State Wide Area Network
(SWAN), and State Data Centre (SDC). - UP has recorded 27 crores e-Transactions in the
year 2015 across all sectors like certificate
issuance, land records, PDS, Transport etc and is
the second top State in the Country in terms of
e-Transactions.
5Does the Modi Government know that under
E-Governance in India, Akhilesh Yadavs
Government has digitally empowered Uttar Pradesh
with so many services? Let us look at the six
things that Modi Government should know
- UP-SDC (state data center) is been established as
central data repository to which all state
departments are linked for public domain
information for 24x7 usage. - A fully automated system e-District is been
rolled out in 48 Districts. - 52000 Gram Panchayats are being connected to
provide high-speed bandwidth internet
connectivity upto rural remotest area of the
State. - 16000 Common Services Centres (CSCs), Lokvani
Centres e-Suvidha kendras have been
established. - E-Village, a Government to Citizen (G2C) service
delivery initiative based on 2-I Innovation
amp Improvement Model is also being
implemented to facilitate Over the counter (OTC)
delivery system dispersal of various
services/certificate. - Various initiatives such as e-Office/paperless
office, e-Patravali, digital signatures,
E-Procurement system have been undertaken for the
transformation of the Government Machinery into
digital age.
6Modi government has spoken a lot about Digital
India. However, these are some things about the
Akhilesh Yadav government that make its
e-governance praiseworthy.
