1Bespoke Kitchen Design Lighting Getting It
Right
2- When designing a new kitchen for your home, you
will surely do a lot of research and planning
you want to get it right, after all. You will
find that there are many useful articles and
videos online. They will provide you with some
invaluable tips. However, we have found that very
few of them address one key feature lighting. - The lighting in your kitchen can create different
moods, and its important to get it right. The
right lighting can transform a kitchen from an
OK-but-run-of-the-mill space, to a wow! space.
Today, we are going to discuss lighting. The
following tips will help you to get it right.

3- Tip 1 Introduce as much natural light as you
can. - If you are able to, add some extra windows if
theres no room above the kitchen, then skylight
style windows can be awesome. This will set you
back between 3000 and 8000, but its well worth
it if you have the money. - Most of us, unfortunately, dont have the money
to do that. There are other ways of introducing
light. These include - Using light reflective paint
- Using reflective appliances, such as ovens and
fridges - Having a mirror in the kitchen

4Having a lot of natural light will make the room
feel more spacious, clean, and airy. All three of
which are ideal for the kitchen. the natural
light will also make it easier to see what youre
doing when you're creating your culinary
delights. Tip 2 Ambient lighting needs to be
bright. Ambient lighting usually refers to dimmed
lighting, but in the kitchen, you need to be able
to switch between moods, or, if you cant switch
(i.e. through a dimmer switch), to stick to a
brighter option. Most modern kitchens use spot
lighting with LED bulbs because its now brighter
than other types of light, as well as being more
cost-effective in the long run. Its important to
have very bright ambient lighting in the kitchen
so that you can see what you're doing presuming
you cook.

5Tip 3 Install task lighting. Most kitchens have
plenty of cupboards, and this creates a lot of
darkness in the form of shadows. To compensate,
you should install task lighting underneath the
cupboards. These allow you to work on your
preparation without switching on the overhead
lighting. This is great if youre cooking and
entertaining at the same time, because you can
dim the overhead lights, but still see what
youre doing. Of course, its generally good
anyway because it allows you to see what youre
doing better regardless of any other light.

6Tip 4 Use accent lighting to create style Accent
lighting is something thats popular with bespoke
kitchens Fulham, Hampstead, Chelsea, Kensington,
and various other upmarket locations. Its the
latest fashion in kitchen lighting and it is used
to highlight the best parts of the kitchen. for
example, if you have a beautiful countertop
(think deep mahogany, natural oak, granite, or
marble) you want the eyes to be drawn to this
statement piece. Accent lighting allows you to do
that. It literally highlights the best part of
the room. When you walk in and your eyes hit the
countertop, it will look amazing.
