1
Biomechanical Assessment for the Body Conducted
On a Large Scale
Anyone who visits the gym, will without a doubt
have heard of posture analysis being used to make
sure we have got the perfect gym shoes for
support and to reduce any sort injury from taking
place. On face value, it may come across as some
sort of marketing scheme to get people like you
and I to get ourselves the most expensive pair of
trainers.

Nevertheless, one can always increase their
knowledge about sports science which of course
can be studied by biomechanical assessment and
gait analysis. The science of sports has gained a
new objective perspective of how people move and
where they stand in comparison to normal gait
designs. When one has to compare it to horses,
such as when evaluating the lameness, for
instance, results of a biomechanical assessment
can give a person the perfect picture of how a
person moves and highlights where he or she has a
lot pain.

Understand the biomechanics is a new phenomenon
but it does involve a lot of homework on a
horses gaits being done using the biomechanical
assessment methods. There are a couple of steps
that have it possible to perform the posture
evaluation in an ideal situation.

Ideal or natural situations can be places that
the horse comes across on a regular basis like an
indoor school, gallops one can imagine the
application of this modern day sport. There has
been recent talk about the requirement for goal
line technology in a serious football game, there
were several ideas thrown in that the assessments
could be used to assist in judging dressage.

There are so many things that one is not aware
off and gets to learn along the way with simple
trial and error methods. With all these
techniques in mind, one has to realise the
importance of exercise and posture as well. Let
us for a minute think to ourselves as to what if
we sat on a chair with a slouch or rather a hunch
back? What would it do to our posture? It would
definitely break into two or give us a severe
back ache.
