• DeMar has been a proud member of the Timber
  Merchants Association of Victoria (TMA) since
  1982. DeMar is also a member of Hardware
  Building Traders (HBT), a buying group for
  independent hardware and building material
  retailers. HBT members are privvy to lower buying
  prices thus enabling them to compete with larger
  retailers. HBTs buying power, combined with
  DeMars extensive storage facilities, means DeMar
  not only offers a comprehensive range of building
  materials but at extremely competitive prices.

About Us

• In the late 1880s, a holding yard for
  second-hand timber and building materials
  salvaged from demolitions commenced trading in
  Melbournes inner city suburb of Clifton Hill.
  The business changed hands twice before being
  taken over by Frank DeMartini. The business,
  which remained essentially a destination for
  second-hand timber, became DeMar Timber
  Demolition.
• Today the Webster family own the business, with
  Alan and Myriam Webster buying the business in
  1984 from Mr DeMartini. At the time, Alan and
  Myriam had four small children and they wanted to
  spend more time together as a family.He was such
  a lovely, kind man who gave us lots of help and
  support when we bought the business. We had such
  respect for him and that is why we decided to
  keep the name DeMar Timber Demolition, Myriam
  explains.

Our Team Members are the heart and soul of our
business.

• DeMar Timber Hardware is a family business
  owned by Alan and Myriam Webster. Employing over
  15 staff members, each industry trained and
  experienced, DeMar has built an outstanding
  reputation by providing a level of personal
  service unparalleled in the industry. Senior
  staff, including hardware manager Ron Chambers,
  sales manager Liz Webster and timber manager Mark
  Martin, have 15 to 40 years of experience each in
  the industry.
