Title:

LAW OFFICES OF RANDY A. FLEISCHER, P.A.

Description:

Randy A. Fleischer filed his first federal employment discrimination lawsuit in 1990. He knows how it feels to be a victim of discrimination as he was the plaintiff, pro se, in that lawsuit. While still in Nova Law School, Mr. Fleischer won every major motion in federal court against one of the largest labor law firms in the country, representing a national health club chain. The case was settled before Mr. Fleischer graduated law school and his practice has focused on representing victims of discrimination and civil rights abuses since 1991. – PowerPoint PPT presentation

2
Age Discrimination There are several laws in
place that protect older workers from being
discriminated against, including the federal Age
Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA) that
prohibits employers from discriminating against
potential applicants who are 40 or older. The
ADEA applies to all employers who have 20 or more
employees, including all levels of government,
employment agencies and labor unions. The Florida
Civil Rights Act (FCRA) is the state law that
protects employees from age discrimination.
3
Race Discrimination While all forms of
discrimination are unacceptable, perhaps the most
insidious of all forms is racial discrimination.
Under the Civil Rights Act of 1964, all forms of
race-based discrimination are illegal, and this
has been reaffirmed through numerous federal
court decisions as well as a whole host of
state-based civil rights laws.
4
Pregnancy Disability Discrimination Pregnancy
discrimination takes place with an expecting
female is fired, denied employment or otherwise
discriminated against due to being pregnant or
her intention to become pregnant. It is heinous
to take a pregnant mother out of her job and into
the street with no medical insurance, but it
happens in America day after day. If it happens
to you or someone you love, legal action can be
taken.
5
Transsexual Discrimination Historically, few
groups have faced more challenges in the
workplace and in society than the Lesbian, Gay,
Bi-Sexual, Trans gender (LGBT) and Gender
Identity communities. Randy Fleischer served on
the Broward County Human Rights Board from 1996
until 2011 and moved Broward County to extend
rights based on gender identity as Chair of that
Board.
6
Wrongful Termination Attorney At first, this
may sound a bit demoralizing if you feel youve
been terminated by your employer for no apparent
reason. The answer you get as to why youve been
terminated may seem unfair, unethical, or based
on your employers bad judgment. The good news
is, that even though Florida is an at-will
state, there can still be grounds for a wrongful
termination suit in certain.cases.
7
Sexual Harassment Attorney Unwelcome sexual
advances at work are not only uncomfortable for
an employee, but theyre also illegal. Under
Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and
the Florida Civil Rights Act, sexual advances of
any kind that interfere with a person doing their
job, or that create an intimidating, hostile or
offensive work environment can create a situation
that will put an employer at risk of having
charges filed against them. They can be sued for
monetary losses, including pain and suffering and
punitive damages,
