held various positions in the alcohol industry
and is the co-founder and winemaker of Taken Wine
Company. Having several years experience working

Carlo Trinchero Important Elements Of Wine
Tasting
  • Carlo Trinchero has been in the wine making
industry for several years and is the head
winemaker at Taken Wine Company. He held several
jobs in the alcohol industry and picked up vital
skills in winemaking that have helped him build
his wine company. Here are a couple of important
    elements of wine tasting.
  • Tasting Conditions
  • One of the first things you want to consider is
the atmosphere where you will be tasting the
    wines. The atmosphere and circumstances
surrounding will have an effect on your wine
    tasting experience.
  • Wine Glass
  • You will need to use the right wine glass for
your wine tasting experience. Using a glass that
is too small will hinder you from getting a clear
sense of the wines aroma. You will need to use a
long stemmed, wide bowl, clean wine glass to
    taste the wine.
  • Temperature
  • The temperature of the wine should not be too
cold. If wine is served too cold, it will impact
the taste and eventually your impressions of it.

Carlo Trinchero How To Evaluate Wine By Sight
  • Carlo Trinchero is the General Manager of
Trinchero Napa Valley, a winery in Napa Valley
California. The Trinchero Napa Valley was founded
by his grandfather in 1948 and has produced some
excellent wines over the years. He shares a
couple of tips on how to evaluate wine by sight.
  • Straight View
  • The straight view allows you to see the wines
    whole color range.
  • Side View
  • Looking at the wine through the side of the glass
will allow you to see how clear it is. A murky
wine could be because it is unfiltered or has
    fermentation problems.
  • Tilted View
  • Tilting the glass so that the wine thins out as
it moves towards the rim will help you identify
its weight and age. If the color is brown, rusty
brick or orange, it could be an older wine, and
if it is pale and watery at the edge, it could be
    insipid wine.
  • Swirl
  • Swirling the wine in the glass will allow you to
see if the wine forms tears or legs on the
    sides of the glass.
