Special Visas

• There are a few different types of specialized
  visas that the United States grants for special
  circumstances. They are as follows T visa is for
  victims of human trafficking, U visa is for
  victims of criminal activity, and VAWA is for
  victims of domestic violence. These cases are

Naturalization

• If you have lived in the United States for an
  extended period of time, you may desire to become
  a citizen by the process of naturalization. The
  law allows certain Legal Permanent Residents
  (LPRs) to become a US citizen after they have
  maintained their LPR status for a period of time
  and meet some other eligibility requirements. 
  This is not an automatic grant of status and

Employment Visa

• A person can get a Green Card and become a Legal
  Permanent Resident if a United States Employer
  files a petition for them. Generally this process
  involves getting a certification from the Labor
  Department before the Employer can petition the
  Immigration Service (USCIS). There are several
  categories for this type of visa and the process
  differs based on the criteria

Family Visa

• The most common avenue to obtaining a Green Card
  is through an immediate family member who is a US
  citizen (USC) or LPR.  The law allows a US
  Citizen and a LPR to bring their immediate family
  members to live in the United States if they
  desire.  The sponsorship process varies on
  whether your family member is a USC or LPR and
  your relationship to them.  There are set visa
  numbers available for different preference
  categories.

Waivers

• There are several factors that may exclude you
  from  adjusting your status, example violation of
  immigration laws, overstay of visa, criminal

Investor Visas

• The E1 visa deals with an alien setting up a
  business that essentially trades between the US
  and the aliens home country.  The E2 visa
  enables aliens to buy or start their own business
  and in the process create and sustain jobs. E1
  and E2 visas are non-immigrant visas but in some
  cases, can lead to permanent resident status. The
  EB5 immigrant visa allows permanent residence
  immediately upon entry to the U.S. based on an
  investment between 500,000 and 1million in a
  U.S. business.

Diversity / Lottery Visa

• The Diversity Immigrant Visa Program (DV Program)
  makes up to 50,000 immigrant visas available
  annually, drawn from random selection among all
  entries to individuals who are from countries
  with low rates of immigration to the United
  States. If applicant receives a visa through the
  Diversity Visa Lottery Program he or she will be
  authorized to live and work permanently in the
  United States. Applicant will also be allowed to
  bring his or her spouse and any unmarried
  children under the age of 21 to the United States.

Asylum Defensive Affirmative Application

• If you have fled your home country in order to
  escape unlawful treatment or persecution, you may
  be eligible for asylum in the United States. An
  alien can file for asylum as a defensive petition
  in the removal proceeding if he can show past
  persecution and/or fear of future persecution in
  his home country based on the five statutory
  grounds. You can file an Asylum petition with the
  Immigration Service as an affirmative application.
