How does treatment work? We evaluate each patient
to ensure Kybella is appropriate and to customize
the treatment to your needs. At the outset of the
treatment, we cleanse the area and use a numbing
anesthetic before marking several injection
sites. Each session includes multiple quick
injections. The number varies depending on your
needs, but 20 to 30 are typical. The total
treatment time is less than 20 minutes. It takes
a minimum of two treatments to see results. Treatm
ents are performed 4 to 8 weeks apart. Most
patients will achieve their desired results
within 3 months though up to 6 treatments may be
required.   It is possible that you will not see
improvement despite multiple treatments due to
your underlying anatomy, skin tone or other
factors.

Are the results permanent? Yes. Fat cells
destroyed by Kybella injections are eliminated
from your body, so the results are considered
permanent. Even patients who gain a moderate
amount of weight after getting Kybella treatments
should not notice the re-emergence of a double
chin. The aging process continues, which results
is the loss of skin elasticity, and patients who
gain significant weight likely will see the
results compromised. What are the most common
side effects? All patients should expect swelling
in the treated area.  This is most dramatic in
the first 3 days after the first procedure. 
Subsequent treatments generally result in
significantly less swelling.  Swelling will
steadily decrease but may still be noticeable at
a month post treatment.  Tenderness, discomfort
and numbness in the treated area is very common
and can last weeks.  Redness and firmness in the
area is also common.  Bruising is possible and
will generally resolve in a week.
