2A computer systems technician is an IT
professional who works with the large-scale
computer systems at work in an organization. Daily
work may include configuring servers, securing
networks, installing hardware and/or software,
performing necessary hardware or software
upgrades, troubleshooting various IT issues,
providing support to users, etc. Many hold a
Bachelors from a four-year university or an
Associates degree from a computer technician
school, depending upon the job.
3- The Computer Systems Technician Program can be
completed in as few as 7 months. This
well-rounded program seeks to educate students on
a broad range of IT subjects from management of
Windows Servers to troubleshooting for individual
users across different user environments.
4- Students of Westechs Computer Systems Technician
Program will receive instruction on topics such
as the following - Installation and configuration of system software
(operating systems, applications, mobile device
software, etc.). - Installation, maintenance, and repair of computer
hardware using industry-standard tools
(multimeters, driver kits, anti-static materials,
and more).
5- Database administration (plus creation of
database objects, queries, and reporting tools). - Management and monitoring of Windows Server 2012
infrastructure, including configuration,
troubleshooting, group management, rights
management, network load balancing, and more. - Configuration and securing of computer systems
and their networks.
6- Provision of technical support to users either
on-site or remotely via email, chat, or phone. - Implementation of Active Directory Domain
Services and virtualization via Microsoft Hyper-V
Server 2012. - Installation and operation of basic IPv4 and IPv6
networks (configuration of LAN switches, IP
routers, WAN connections, security, etc.).
