Security System
Introduction
- The main aim of this project is used to provide
security system for cash boxes, lockers in malls,
jeweler shops, homes and banks and also to watch
continuously if any person is visiting your home.
- Nowadays, automation is a developing technology.
For instance, a doorbell that continuously
generates ringtones when an unauthorized person
visit your home.

Resistor
- Resistor is a passive two - terminal electrical
component that implements electrical resistance
as a circuit element. - The ratio of the voltage applied across a
resistor's terminals to the intensity of current
through the circuit is called RESISTANCE. - The relation is represented by Ohm's Law

IC- CD4060
- IC- CD4060 is a ripple binary counter/divider.
- It consists of an oscillator section and 14
ripple carry binary counter stages. - The oscillator configuration allows design of
either RC or crystal oscillator circuits. - A RESET input is provided which resets the
counter to the all O's state and disables the
oscillator.

Description About Project
- This project is to design an Electronic Eye
Security Controlled System for homes and public
places like banks, malls, etc. - It uses a LDR sensor to sense the intensity of
light and produces an alarm for representing
thefts, and also switches ON the lights. - This electronic security system is placed inside
lockers and cash boxes. - When an unauthorized person tries to open the
locker door and uses a torch light to find the
valuable things, the torch light falls on the
electronic eye giving a signal to the buzzer.

9Electronic Eye Controlled
Security System
Description About Project
- It uses a 14 stage ripple binary counter to
detect the intensity of light through the light
dependent resistor(LDR). - The relay driver is connected with the binary
counter to control the different loads. - The buzzer is attached to the circuit using a
transistor to give an indication to the users.

Security System
Description About Project
- Whenever an intensity of light falls on the LDR
then the resistance of this LDR will decrease. - Thus, the ripple counter triggers the
transistors. - Also, these transistors trigger the buzzer and
load connected to the relay to indicate a theft.

Security System
Working
- LDR senses the light intensity and generates an
alarm for indicating thefts and also turns ON the
light. - If the cash box is in closed condition, the
interior will be dark. - Hence in the dark, LDR resets CD4060 and it stops
oscillating and counting. - So neither the buzzer sounds, nor the relay
energizes, indicating that the cash box is closed.

12Electronic Eye Controlled
Security System
Working
- If someone tries to open the door of the cash box
and uses a torch light to find the valuables. - Then the light most probably from the burglar's
touch falls on LDR fitted into the cash box. - As a result, LDR conducts and goes low.
- Hence pin 14 of IC1 goes high for two seconds
after the door is opened and goes low for another
2 seconds.

13Electronic Eye Controlled
Security System
Working
- So the buzzer sounds for two seconds and then
falls silent for the following two seconds. - This cycle repeats until the cash box is closed.

14Electronic Eye Controlled
Security System
Circuit Operation
- Initially, connect the circuit as shown in the
circuit diagram on the bread board.

15Electronic Eye Controlled
Security System
Circuit Operation
- Now connect the supply voltage of 9v using
battery. - Place the LDR in light. You can observe no sound
is produced from the buzzer. - Place the LDR in dark, buzzer starts ringing. LED
connected to the buzzer also starts blinking. - As the intensity falling on the LDR increases,
sound produced by the buzzer increases.

Disadvantages
- Light is required in front of door bell.
- If any person come in out then the bell will
ring.

Future Scope
The future scope of this project can be augmented
by implementing it by using a GSM modem and a
microcontroller. The GSM modem can be interfaced
to the microcontroller to send and receive SMS to
the user in case of burglary.

Conclusion
Electronic Eye controlled Security System, device
utilizes binary counter as input. It has been
successfully demonstrated that, this will serve
as a device for providing security. It provides
the user with efficient and reliable security
system for houses, malls etc that supports the
use of a binary counter which sense the intensity
of light through LDR and activating the buzzer
indicating a theft.
