3Giuseppe Rinaldi Barolo Tre Tine 2010
Giuseppe Rinaldi Barolo Tre Tine 2010.The 2010
Barolo Tre Tine is classic and austere to the
core. Here, the blend of sites yields a massively
tannic, old-school Barolo that is for the
exceedingly patient. Dark red cherry, plum,
smoke, tobacco, cedar and licorice are some of
the many notes that flesh out in the glass. The
2010 is incredibly focused, with tons of Le Coste
in its flavor profile, but above all else, in its
structure.

5Rinaldi Francesco Figli Gavi DOCG 2012
6The great traditionalist estate of Francesco
Rinaldi Figli is one of the greatest names in
Piedmont. Located in the town of Barolo itself,
the domaine of Francesco Rinaldi has a long and
illustrious history in the region. It was founded
in 1870, when Francesco Rinaldi inherited a
vineyard and house in Barolo, inducing him to
leave behind his work with the very large
Mirafiore estate and set out on his own. His
family at that time also had ties to the then
greatest estate in the Barolo region,
Barale-Rinaldi. Francesco was the cousin of
Giuseppe Rinaldi, and together these two superb
family wineries have marched down through time
side by side, both upholding the unique,
traditional style of Barolo

Rinaldi Francesco Figli Barolo Brunate DOCG
2010. It is great to see a continued focus on
quality at this historic family-run
estate. Antonio Galloni, The Wine Advocate, Oct
2012.The 2010 Barolo Le Brunate is the most
dynamic and textured of these wines. Dark cherry,
plum, smoke and violet notes flesh out in a firm,
muscular Barolo endowed with tons of classic
Brunate nuance. The flavors are intense, dark and
bold. Balsamic overtones develop in the glass,
adding further shades of nuance and complexity.

10Rinaldi Francesco Figli Barolo DOCG 2011
100 Nebbiolo. Its colour is ruby garnet red with
slightly orange reflections after ageing. The
smell is ethereal, wide and embracing with scents
of rose, violet and soft balmy notes. The taste
is dry, savoury and harmonic. It matches very
well with red and braised meat, game and cheese.
The suggested serving temperature is 16 18C.
Classic traditional Barolo!
11Giuseppe Rinaldi Barolo Brunate Le Coste 2009
12Dark cherries, plums, cloves, violets, incense,
orange rind and tobacco meld together in the 2009
Barolo Brunate-Le Coste. A massive, powerful
Barolo, the 2009 boasts stunning depth, power and
richness, all in a relatively open style for this
estate. I imagine the 2009 will drink well
relatively early for top-flight Barolo, but it
has fabulous class and intensity 96 points

15Giuseppe Rinaldi Barolo Brunate La Coste 2006
16Brunate component Medium red. Mocha, brown
spices, tobacco and cocoa powder on the nose,
with suggestions of superripeness. Sweet, lush
and deep, with decadent flavors of plum, tobacco,
brown spices and earth. Finishes long and sweet,
with substantial broad, ripe tannins. From a
barrel of pure Le Coste Bright, deep red. Rather
Burgundian aromas of mocha, smoke and earth, with
good mineral lift. Sexy and sweet in the mouth,
with lovely energy to the flavors of dark
raspberry, spices, minerals and red licorice.

18Rinaldi Francesco Figli Barolo Brunate DOCG 2012
A dark, muscular wine, the 2012 Barolo Le Brunate
hits the palate with waves of fruit, tannin and
acidity. The 2012 is going to need at least a few
years to settle down post bottling, as the
elements are still a bit disjointed. Still, the
wine's power and overall intensity are both
commendable. Suggestions of rose petal, cedar,
iron, mint and smoke shape the finish. Today, the
2012 is austere and unyielding. Readers need to
be in it for the long haul.Francesco Rinaldi is
a bastion of traditional, extremely well made
