3Ata Rangi Pinot Noir 2009
- Ata Rangi Pinot Noir 2009 promises to be a great
wine light, soft and delicate cherry stone and
fresh cherry flavours with a long mineral finish.
Beautiful.

6Comte Armand Pommard Clos des Epeneaux 2005
7Like the 2006, this is presently brooding and
even more backward with only grudging and very
ripe notes of plum, spice and earth in evidence
where the earthy character can also be found on
the textured, velvety and mouth coating
full-bodied flavors blessed by superb depth of
material and so much dry extract that the finish
is borderline chewy but not at all aggressive. A
serious wine that will need at least 15 and
probably 20 years to really be at its best but
when it arrives, it should more than repay the
wait. Note that in my strong opinion it is
pointless to purchase this and try to enjoy it
young as it really will need extended bottle age
to justify the price of admission
8Comte de Vogue Musigny 2006
9Deep, bright red. Offers an extra dimension on
the nose, with captivating sappy red fruits,
minerals, blood orange, clove, menthol and bitter
chocolate. Enters the mouth thick and opulent,
then wonderfully dense and seamless in the
middle, with compelling sweetness and piquant
minerality. The back half of the wine shows the
powerful, structured side of the vintage,
finishing with major tannins and an impression of
brooding energy. This may well merit a higher
score with a decade or so of bottle ageing.
10Genot-Boulanger Clos de Vougeot 2010
- Power and grace combine with enormous character
in this Grand Cru Burgundy. Located in the
southeastern block of the largest single vineyard
in the Côte de Nuits entitled to Grand Cru
status, the soil is dense, providing for intense
structure. Rustic raspberry and red cherry aromas
evolve toward stewed red fruit qualities with
earthy notes. Fabulous wine from a fabulous
vintage
11Louis Jadot Bonnes Mares 2005
Good bright, full red. Brooding aromas of
medicinal blueberry and menthol lifted by
brilliant high notes of rose petal, mace and
minerals. Compellingly deep and young, even
youthfully imploded today, but this already
boasts brilliant detail and energy and an
exhilarating high pitch. Penetrating, powerful
blue fruits, graphite, flowers and minerals stain
the palate with flavor and will not quit. A great
Bonnes-Mares for the Musigny lover. Should gain
in bottle for two decades and go on for another
two

13Meo Camuzet Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru 2005
A very ripe black cherry, pepper and crushed
herb nose is trimmed in discreet wood spice that
can also be found on the rich to the point of
opulent broad-scaled flavors that are strikingly
concentrated and oozing with dry extract yet
retain a fine sense of precision on the
explosively long finish. Méo has been generally
looking for a bit more weight and punch with this
wine and over the last few vintages and he
certainly has achieved it here without
sacrificing the elegance that has always
characterized the Méo Clos de Vougeot
