Title: renewable energy sources in india

2 RENEWABLE ENERGY
- Renewable energy is energy that is get
from renewable resources which are naturally
replenished .
3 Solar power
Geothermal
Important types
Hydro power
Wind energy
4Geothermal energyThe Earth have molten rock in
its insideThese very heat ,liquid state and
exhibit the heat energy This heat energy convert
into which type of energy we want. This is called
geothermal energy.
- Wind power
- The air flow rotate the wind mill turbines and
this mechanical energy converted into electrical
energy. - The wind mills averagely give 6 million KW per
year.
5Hydro power The water flows rotates
turbines and this mechanical energy converted
into electricity.
- Solar energy
- The solar energy convert to following two types.
- solar photovoltaic (PV) modules convert sunlight
directly into electricity. - Second, solar thermal power systems use focused
solar radiation to produce steam, which is then
used to turn a turbine producing electrical
energy.
6Some Advantages of renewable energy sources
- These energy doesnt create the green house
effect. - The sun energy and water energy(from sea water)
arent run out. - Their fuel being derived from nature and low cast
compare to fossil fuels. - It release little waste (or) no waste.
7Some disadvantages
- The renewable energy sources gives very low
amount of energy which we want like electricity. - The climate isnt always same. Hence the climate
affect the renewable energy sources - In cloud sky the solar panel gives low amount of
electricity - The wind mill needs always air flows.
8Some limitations
- 1.This renewable energy sources always depend
nature - 2.The solar panel needs clear sky and sun light
to produce electricity - 3.The hydro generators (in river dams) need
always flow of water but now the amount of water
in the world is decreases.
9Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) shows
a amount of renewable energy sources from some
states in India in 2016.
States Electricity from states (in MW)
Gujarat 84,431
Andhra 44,229
Telungana 4,244
Rajasthan 18,770
Karnataka 55,857
Maharashtra 45,394
Madhya Pradesh 10,484
Tamil Nadu 33,800
10Current developments in India
Our Indian government gives more important to
Solar energy and try to produce large amount of
electricity from sun light. By introducing
solar rooftops, solar parks and solar tree.
- The solar trees are located in CSIR
CMERI(CENTRAL MECHANICAL ENGINEERING RESEARCH
INSTITUTE in New Delhi
11Gujarat Solar Park
12Solar rooftops in Punjab engineering college
