Rehearsal and Daily Warm-up for Marching Band
2
Marching band season commences during the summer
and lasts until November. Technically, its a
period when music bands perform and compete in a
theme based show. Sometimes, there may not be a
competition. However, when a new marching bas
season starts, rehearsal begins in a full swing.
This is a period of time dedicated to music
fundamentals and practice. During this period,
each and every band should plan accordingly and
practice in such a way that equal amount of time
is dedicated to both marching and
movement.   Components of rehearsal   - Warm
up - Development of individual and ensemble
skills   If you are a marching band music Florida
team and planning for rehearsal, there should be
a proper plan and a minimum of fifteen to thirty
minutes should be allocated for the same.
Similarly, daily warm up at the beginning of the
rehearsal should be focused. It will fine tune
the attitude in players.

Warm for particular musical needs   For a
particular musical need, for example, playing an
instrument is a physical activity. You must be
warmed up for the upcoming workout. Work on some
basic concepts and specific exercises. Whenever
possible exercises may be memorized and played
outside. Practicing in a circle shape is most
effective.   The process of rehearsal   Organized
rehearsal is highly essential for Marching Band
Music Arrangements. So you need to start with
breathing exercises. Practicing progressively
from long tones to faster rhythms and slurs to
legato to shorter articulations. The next concept
is working progressively from a comfortable mezzo
forte to louder and softer and from unison to
harmony.   The most important thing is practicing
from low to high range and specific exercises for
individual and ensemble skill development. Now,
you may be thinking that how much time should you
spend? How to organize all? And what are the
skills required? If you are curious to know
everything, stay tuned!
