popular maharashtrian dish made during
upvaas/fast/vrat. A very simple, less time
consuming recipe made with just Potato, peanuts
powder. Follow the step by step recipe for
sabudana thalipeeth.

  • Ingredients
  • 1 cup sabudana
  • 1 potato, boiled, peeled and mashed
  • 3 tsp roasted peanuts powder
  • 3/4 tsp red chilli powder
  • 2 tsp oil
  • salt to taste
  • Cumin seeds

Sabudana Thalipeeth Recipe
Recipe 1. Wash sabudana under clear water. Keep
enough water and soak it overnight. 2. Add mashed
potato, red chilli powder, peanuts powder, cumin
seeds and salt to soaked sabudana. Mix well. 3.
Add some water to knead the mixture to a soft
dough. 4. Make equal sized balls out of dough. 5.
Heat a pan and add oil to it. 6. Take a plastic
paper and add few drops of water to it. 7. With
fingers, start rolling one ball to form a thin
circle with a small hole in the middle. 8. Now
slowly remove the thalipeeth from the plastic
paper and put it on pan. 9. Cover with a lid and
cook for 5 7 minutes. Cook until turn
crispy. 10. Flip on the other side and cook. Do
not put a cover this time. 11. Serve hot with
sweet curd.

  • You can use this same dough to make sabudana
    vada.
  • Sabudana should be well soaked before making.
  • If you forget to soak sabudana at night. You
    can soak it in warm water for 4 5 hours.
