Tips for Eye Care during Monsoon
  • The season of rain is around the corner. Monsoon
is a delightful season for it brings to us the
required relief from the summer heat. However,
the season of rain also brings along various
infections and allergies. Due to the moist in air
and water clogging, viruses and bacteria are to
sustain and reciprocate. Thus, the season can
cause various harmful infections. Moreover, the
eyes being the most sensitive and exposed organ
of human body, the chances to acquire an eye
infection are very common. Hence, it causes eye

  • As a matter of fact, children are more prone to
eye infections due to their lifestyle. Therefore,
the ultimate worry as a parent is to protect your
childs eye during monsoon. There are a few tips
you should follow to ensure eye care during
    monsoon.
  • The foremost preventive action would be to
maintain hygiene. In case you suspect the risk of
infection, use cold water to gently wash your
eyes. Also, avoid touching your eyes
persistently, especially when your hands are
unwashed or unclean. Otherwise, it can lead to
    infections such as conjunctivitis. Secondly,
while heading to the outdoors always carry your
travel glasses along. People often believe that
shades are of use only in summers. However, the
truth is that the UV rays of the sun can affect
the eyes in monsoon too. Also, the glasses helps
to protect us from dust particles and the germs
suspended in the moist air. Nevertheless, eating
healthy is preventive for every possible disease.
During monsoon, intake of fruits rich in
antioxidants is extremely good for the health of
eyes. Even so, it is very important to avoid
sharing items of common uses in the household
such as towel, handkerchief, etc. because it can
cause the infection to transmit from one affected
    member to others.
  • Lastly, in the case of any other eye problems
such as redness, irritation, burning sensation,
etc. ensure to take gentle care of the eye, avoid
usage of digital tools, do not use contact
    lenses, and practice eye exercises.
